REDS
Reds from Barossa Valley Barossa reds
Peter Lehmann
Peter Lehmann’s personal bravery, loyalty and commitment to the Barossa forged the foundations of the winery that bears his name, built in 1979 to protect the livelihood of his mates, the independent Barossa grape growers, and their treasured vineyards. His passion for, and commitment to, the Barossa is infectious and continues with everyone today that is associated with Peter Lehmann Wines, now under the guidance of son Doug Lehmann.
A conviction that the Barossa is the best place in Australia to make wine, and having enough self belief to constantly explore and push the boundaries of wine excellence has yielded some impressive results over the years, perhaps none more spectacularly than in both 2003 and 2006 when they accepted the awards for Best Australian Producer and International Winemaker of the Year at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in London.
Their commitment to the Barossa and the growers has been rewarded and the winemakers enjoy access to a legacy of over 900 vineyards that has no peer in the Barossa winemaking community. The growers, their vineyards and a commitment to excellence in Barossa winemaking have been the backbone of Peter Lehmann Wines since 1979.
The Peter Lehmann Barossa Art Series Collection is testament to the Barossa's viticultural heritage, its ability to excel across a variety of wines and the quality and diversity of the growers' vineyards. Their love of wine and art and the diverse character of these wines have inspired Peter Lehmann Wines to distinguish each label with one of the many faces of the Queen of Clubs who is symbolic of the brave gamble Peter Lehmann took to build his winery in 1979.

Parker Estates
arker Coonawarra Estate wines have achieved an unmatched reputation both within Australia, and in all countries where fine wines are revered for integrity and consistently superb quality. Commercial constraints play no part in the development of Parker Coonawarra Estate wines. For many years close involvement of the late John Parker in the wine industry resulted in his desire to produce a fine wine from Australia’s premier wine district, and culminated in the release, in 1991, of the 1988 “Terra Rossa First Growth”, which was subsequently judged as the 6th highest rated Bordeaux-Style in the 1991 International Challenge in London.
The estate is situated in the heart of Coonawarra and the 20ha of vineyards are planted in prime terra-rossa soil. Around 100 tonnes of grapes are crushed, consisting of 18ha of Cabernet Sauvignon, 1.5ha of Merlot and 0.5ha of Petit Verdot.
Peter Bissell is the winemaker at Parker Coonawarra Estate and was awarded the ‘Qantas Australian Winemaker of the Year' award for 2005. Peter's philosophy is for ‘An uncompromising commitment to quality producing fine wines from the Terra Rossa soils of Coonawarra’.
